Since my last post about worldbuilding and invisible worlds I haven't done very much, but what little I have done has been gratifying:

• Made a "grab bag" list of minor characters (and their superpowers, if any) for the Superhero Thing
• Did some Restoration planning with laura_josephsen. (In person! Over lunch! It felt just like old times!) :-)

Last night I finished the second bullet point on my yearly authorial plan: Yet Another Edit of the Shakespeare thing is complete. The lovely laura_josephsen is going to read it for me this time. The reason I bring it up is because she hasn't read any iteration since the very first draft I spit out for Nanowrimo 2009 and I find this just hilarious. And also ( Read more... )

I got a 50-page partial request on a query from Batch #3. I am all kinds of happy, just to finally have an unsolicited positive response of some kind. That's after about 25 definite rejections, which I'm rounding up to 33 for those who've been long enough to qualify for "no response means no". We closed The Music Man last night. It was a lovely night, our best show yet. I took another vacation day to recover. After sleeping in until a shameful hour I spent a couple of hours editing the Shakespeare Thing and sending query letters (one of the queries got rejected nine minutes after I sent it. Well, last night was opening night of The Music Man. The show itself was fine, with as many bumbles and "moments" as usual. For me, though it wasn't quite so fun because earlier in the day I got water plugged in my ear and I was half deaf.
